John Stead’s career is built on action, precision, and storytelling excellence. A two-time Canadian Screen Award winner for Best Stunt Coordination, he has also earned an ACTRA Toronto Stunt Ensemble Award for Law and Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, a Genre Award for Best Suspense, a Directors Guild of Canada nomination for Outstanding Directorial Achievement, and multiple other industry honors. His expertise in action design spans over 700 film and television episodes, with more than 270 credits as a stunt performer.

Beyond stunts, John is a celebrated director, having worked on major TV series such as Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, SkyMed, Pretty Hard Cases, Dark Matter, Designated Survivor, Bitten and Jett. His directorial work also includes feature films like Troubled Waters, Cyborg Soldier, and Good Morning Tomorrow, as well as acclaimed short films including the award-winning, The Waking.
